Review of the Spring Health Retreat ~ 21–24 November 2019 at Maruia Luxury Mineral Spa

The spring health retreat was designed to wake up your body and invigorate your senses after the slow winter months. During our retreat in November 2019 we enjoyed some beautiful weather, allowing us to go outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. Spring is a time of opening to new growth. New life is emerging all around us in the green leaves on trees, the lambs in the fields and the brief but welcome sight of cherry blossom.
Taking this invitation from Nature, we focused on increasing our digestive power and awakening our bodies for greater health and vitality. To help learn how to nourish our bodies, we watched a food demonstration focusing on clean, plant-based foods and we learned how to incorporate the foods into our daily lives. For spring the gentle yoga sessions focus on a theme of new growth, preparing and strengthening the body for the new season. There was plenty of opportunity to get out into Nature, filling our lungs with fresh, clean air. Through mindfulness practices, such as a walking meditation, we learned how to let go of stress and embrace the moment. Read what people said about this retreat.
As with all my retreats, there was plenty of space for reflection, relaxation and rest. Maruia Hot Springs is set in the Lewis Pass Scenic Reserve, an area of outstanding natural beauty, where the quiet of Nature is close at hand. All of the rooms are situated along private terraces with pleasant views so there is a real connection to Nature. There are various walks that can be taken in the surrounding countryside and the spa offers relaxing hot thermal pools for bathing plus optional day-spa treatments.
I hope to bring you another spring retreat at the end of 2020. If this is something that interests you - please get in touch.
